The Lowdown: Both Detroit City FC and Louisville City FC will try to rebound from setbacks last time out as they square off for the second time this season, with points essential to both for differing reasons. Le Rouge (4-11-5, 17pts) are looking to break a six-game winless streak that continued this past Saturday in a 2-0 defeat to current Eastern Conference leader Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC at Highmark Stadium. The result marked the 12th time this season DCFC had been held scoreless in a contest with its 13 goals the fewest in the league this season. LouCity (8-5-5, 29pts) hasn’t fared much better in front of goal, with its 17 goals the second-fewest in the Eastern Conference, and the defending conference title holder is also coming off a 1-0 setback to Pittsburgh last Wednesday night at Lynn Family Stadium. Louisville claimed a 1-0 win when these teams met in Kentucky in April when Wilson Harris scored the only goal of the game, and the visitors will be hoping for a repeat of that result as they look to jump back above Memphis 901 FC and into the top four in the standings. With DCFC four points out of the playoff places, however, a win may be even more essential for the hosts as they look for a second postseason berth in as many seasons in the Championship.
