San Antonio FC Brings Aboard Forward Kekuta Manneh

27-year-old has recorded a combined 50 goals and assists in MLS during career


New San Antonio FC signing Kekuta Manneh has recorded 31 goals and 19 assists in 171 appearances in Major League Soccer's regular season.

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio FC announced on Monday the club had signed forward Kekuta Manneh pending league and federation approval. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We are excited to welcome Kekuta to the team,” said SAFC Head Coach Alen Marcina. “He brings high-level experience, on-field leadership, game-changing speed and a very good final product. Kekuta will add to our high-performance environment and team identity.”

Manneh joins San Antonio having compiled more than 200 appearances in the professional ranks across Major League Soccer, Europe, and Mexico. Most recently, Manneh spent the 2021 season with Austin FC, making 16 appearances for the club last year. The 27-year-old has also made stops in MLS with the New England Revolution, FC Cincinnati, the Columbus Crew having originally been selected in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft by Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Additionally, Manneh has spent time with Pachuca in Liga MX and St. Gallen in the Swiss Super League, the country’s top flight.

Originally from Gambia, Manneh moved to the United States as a teenager and played youth soccer in Texas, competing at Austin-based Lonestar Soccer Club. As a teenager, he competed for the Austin Aztex in USL League Two in 2012 before being selected by the Whitecaps in the First Round (fourth overall) of the 2013 MLS SuperDraft.

Manneh went on to make more than 100 appearances with the Whitecaps, scoring 22 goals during his time there. Overall, Manneh recorded 31 goals and 19 assists in Major League Soccer across 171 regular-season appearances.

Manneh has represented the United States at the full international level, receiving a January camp callup along with a callup for a friendly match against Paraguay in March of 2018.
