INDIANAPOLIS – Indy Eleven announced on Monday it had re-signed forward Douglas Martinez ahead of the 2024 USL Championship season. Per club policy, terms of the deal will not be disclosed, and the transaction is pending league and federation approval.

Martinez is the 12th player set to return to the Boys in Blue for the new season. He recorded four goals and three assists in 31 appearances in the past campaign after being acquired via transfer from Sacramento Republic FC in preseason. The 26-year-old has recorded 30 goals and 14 assists in 113 regular season appearances overall in the USL Championship, having previously competed for the New York Red Bulls II, Real Monarchs SLC, San Diego Loyal SC and Republic FC.

A native of Honduras, Martinez posted a career year while with Real Monarchs in 2019 as he helped lead the side to the USL Championship title. In August, his performances saw him sign with Real Salt Lake, and he recorded a pair of goals in 25 appearances in the top flight.

Martinez has also featured for Honduras at the senior national team level, making five appearances for the side including this past week in an exhibition against Iceland. He had previously appeared for the country at the youth national team level, including for the Honduran Olympic Team at the 2021 Tokyo Games.
