Indy Eleven adds midfielder Max Schneider

Graduate of Bayer Leverkusen academy spent past two seasons with St. Louis CITY SC organization


Indy Eleven has signed midfielder Max Schneider, who spent the past two season with St. Louis CITY SC and recorded three goals and nine assists in MLS NEXT Pro.

INDIANAPOLIS – Indy Eleven announced on Thursday the club had signed midfielder Max Schneider ahead of the 2024 USL Championship season. Per club policy, terms of the deal will not be disclosed, and the transaction is pending league and federation approval.

Schneider comes to the Circle City after a pair of seasons with the St. Louis CITY SC organization at both the MLS and MLS NEXT Pro levels. A native of Cologne, Germany, he signed with St. Louis CITY2 in February 2022, playing in its inaugural MLS NEXT Pro season and helping the squad to an appearance in the MLS NEXT Pro Cup. In 25 matches, including the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and postseason play, Schneider scored three goals and tallied four assists.

In November 2022 he was promoted to St. Louis’ First Team as part of the roster for the club’s inaugural season in MLS. He made two appearances for CITY SC in the Open Cup, while also competing on loan with CITY2 where he recorded six assists in 27 appearances for the side.

A graduate of the Bayer Leverkusen academy in his native Germany, Schneider enjoyed a decorated collegiate career between 2019-21, helping Marshall University to the 2020 NCAA College Cup Final. During his three seasons, Schneider made 52 appearances and registered six goals and seven assists. Following the 2020 season, he was named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team and the United Soccer Coaches All-Region Second Team.
