TULSA, Okla. – FC Tulsa announced on Tuesday the club had declined contract options on goalkeeper Dallas Odle and forward Marcus Epps and agreed mutual contract terminations with midfielders Tommy McCabe and Collin Fernandez.

Epps had a notable 2023 campaign as he recorded nine goals and seven assists in 33 appearances in the regular season while making a strong forward pairing with mid-season arrival Phillip Goodrum. Fernandez had also spent the past two seasons with Tulsa, recording 60 appearances and recording one goal and four assists.

McCabe joined Tulsa midway through the past campaign from Detroit City FC and made 15 appearances in Black and Gold. Odle, meanwhile, made one appearance and recorded six saves in his lone league appearance for the club in the 2022 campaign.

Analysis

The departure of Marcus Epps from Tulsa might come as a surprise given his productivity in the past campaign. The 28-year-old Mississippi native was an effective part of the club’s attack, and proved adept at putting pressure on opposing defenses with his speed and dribbling qualities. He should make a good pick-up for a club looking to bolster its secondary scoring next season.

McCabe and Fernandez, meanwhile, both depart having been solid but not necessarily game-changing players for Tulsa during their times at the club. The departure of both leaves depth to be addressed for Head Coach Blair Gavin and the club’s front office, and the potential that moves for upgrades to push the club forward are in the offing.
