MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis 901 FC announced on Monday the club has acquired goalkeeper Richard Sánchez via transfer from Hartford Athletic. The transaction was completed prior to the USL Championship roster freeze on Friday, Sept. 22, and Sánchez will be available for selection in the club’s contest against Birmingham Legion FC this Saturday.

“We are delighted to have Richard join us for the remainder of the season,” said Memphis Assistant Sporting Director Caleb Patterson-Sewell. “He will join a fantastic goalkeeping group and we look forward to his experience making a difference as we head into the postseason.”

The former Mexico youth international arrives in Memphis with more than 30 MLS appearances under his belt for FC Dallas and Chicago Fire FC. Sánchez spent time with Tigres UANL in Liga MX for three seasons between his stints in Dallas and Chicago and has 16 national team caps at the U-17 and U-20 levels.

Sánchez has made 27 USL Championship appearances over the past two seasons with LA Galaxy II and Hartford Athletic, recording 83 saves and a save percentage of 58 percent.
