HARRISON, N.J. – The New York Red Bulls II announced on Monday the club had acquired forward Jordan Adebayo-Smith on loan from fellow USL Championship club the Tampa Bay Rowdies through the end of the 2022 USL Championship season. New York has an option to buy Adebayo-Smith at the end of the loan period.

Adebayo-Smith appeared in 25 matches and recorded six starts during the 2021 USL Championship season with the Rowdies. He accumulated 683 minutes and scored four goals, which was tied for fourth on the team.

“We are very excited to add Jordan to our roster for the 2022 season,” Red Bulls Academy Director Sean McCafferty said. “He is a player with exceptional pace and is a threat to any back line with his ability to run in behind and create scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates.”

Prior to his season with Tampa Bay, the 21-year-old spent time in England with EFL League Two club Lincoln City, and went on loan to Grantham Town, Boston United and Gainsborough Trinity. He then played for Sutton United FC before signing with the Rowdies.

“I am happy to be part of the New York Red Bulls organization this year,” Adebayo-Smith said. “I will bring excitement and energy and I’m looking forward to the upcoming season.”
