TAMPA, Fla. – Loudoun United FC forward Andy Lubahn has snagged the USL Championship Fans’ Choice Goal of the Week for Week 15 of the 2019 season for his outstanding long-range finish that put United against Indy Eleven last Saturday night at Audi Field.
A veteran of the Championship, Lubahn’s second goal this season for the first-year club continued Loudoun’s run of impressive finishes that began at the start of the campaign with Griffin Yow’s first goal in club history. The 27-year-old picked up possession 35 yards from goal and cut nicely past a defender before rifling home a finish to the top-right corner from just outside the penalty area.
Lubahn’s goal earned 41 percent of the poll conducted online at USLChampionship.com that concluded on Thursday lunchtime. Phoenix Rising FC’s Solomon Asante finished second on 36 percent for his remarkable lobbed finish from 45 yards against Orange County SC last Saturday night, while Nashville SC’s Cameron Lancaster took third with 19 percent for his long-range game-winner against Harford Athletic last Sunday afternoon.
