Loudoun United Adds Duo to Back Line

Doue brings more than 75 games experience to squad, Hawkins also joins expansion side

LEESBURG, Va. – Loudon United FC has announced the signing of defenders Peabo Doue and Harri Hawkins for its inaugural season in the USL Championship, pending league and federation approval.

Doue joins Loudoun United FC after spending the 2018 Championship season with North Carolina FC. Throughout his time with NCFC, Doue made 19 appearances and recorded one goal and one assist in just over 1,000 minutes of action.

“Peabo has an ample amount of experience in the USL already,” said Loudoun United Head Coach Richie Williams. “We are excited to add another local player to the roster and can’t wait to see what he accomplishes on the field.”

The 27-year-old debuted with Phoenix FC in 2013 and made 50 appearances over two seasons for OKC Energy FC. Overall, the defender has appeared in 79 USL Championship matches and has recorded three goals and two assists. Doue has also made six Lamar Hunt U.S Open Cup appearances in his career.

A graduate of D.C United Academy, Doue is from is from Takoma Park, Md. He was a 2008 MLS U-17 Cup finalist with the Academy. Doue played collegiately at West Virginia University from 2009 until 2012. During these four years at West Virginia, Doue made 75 appearances; scoring 10 goals and making 12 assists.

Hawkins joins Loudoun United after spending the past season with Penn FC. In his time with Penn, Hawkins made 22 appearances and recorded three assists and 94 clearances, second-most for the side.

“Hawkins will be a crucial player in our backline with his skill set as a center back,” said Williams. “He has experience at the professional level and had a successful collegiate career at Hofstra. We are excited to see how he will contribute to the success of our team this season.”

An English native, Hawkins came to the United States to play at a collegiate level with Hofstra University. In his four years with the Pride, he scored 13 goals in 58 appearances, including an overtime win against Delaware which played an instrumental part in the Pride claiming the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) title. Hawkins was also named to the All-CAA First Team three consecutive times from 2014.
