PITTSBURGH (February 10, 2019) – Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC rolled to its second straight preseason victory, defeating Gannon University, 6-0, on Sunday at Highmark Stadium.

The Hounds received their scoring from Steevan Dos Santos (43’), Kevin Kerr (45’+), Christian Volesky (49’), Neco Brett (51’ and 53’) and trialist Eddy Enowbi (68’).

“We were a little bit more settled today than Friday,” head coach Bob Lilley said. “We had a few more contract guys playing. We played 12 today and Friday night we only played six – that helped. We’re trying to give a lot of minutes to the trialists, and I thought some of them showed reasonably well over the two games.”

In the first half, the Hounds received their scoring highlights from a couple Kerr and Dos Santos connections. On the team’s first tally, Kerr booted a corner kick into the penalty box and found the head of Dos Santos, who put the Hounds up 1-0.

Just a few minutes later, the striker returned the favor, assisting on a Kerr goal just before the halftime whistle.

Just as the team finished the first half, it started just as strong and scored three goals in the first eight minutes of the second stanza. Newly signed Hound Volesky potted his first tally in Black and Gold four minutes after the start of the period. Brett also notched a brace, scoring his two tallies just two minutes apart.

Enowbi added a goal in the 68th minute to bring the final score to 6-0.

Riverhounds SC will next be in action against Duquesne University at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15 at Highmark Stadium. All preseason matches at Highmark Stadium are free to attend for the public.
