ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (February 6, 2019) — Young goalkeeper Macklin Robinson has signed with the Tampa Bay Rowdies ahead of the 2019 USL Championship season.

Robinson, 24, spent last season with New York Cosmos B in the NPSL. After playing college soccer at Ohio Dominican University and DePaul University, Robinson turned professional with North Carolina FC in 2016.

He made his professional debut a year later on loan with the USL Championship’s Pittsburgh Riverhounds. After one appearance with Pittsburgh, Robinson returned to North Carolina and played in five matches for NCFC, including two clean sheets.

Robinson made four appearances for Cosmos B in 2018.

“Mack is a promising young goalkeeper that we’re happy to sign,” Rowdies Head Coach Neill Collins said. “He’s got good size and can play the ball with his feet, which is important for how we want to play. More than at any other position in the team, it’s really important to have competition at the goalkeeper position. Mack will be a big part of that and we’re excited to work with him.”

The Rowdies roster now stands at 21 players.
Goalkeepers (2): John McCarthy, Macklin Robinson

Midfielders (7): Jordan Doherty, Yann Ekra, Leo Fernandes, Dom Oduro, Kwadwo Poku, Zach Steinberger, Andrew Tinari
