Former NC State defender joined by Lobo and Ferreira in Tulsa's back line

Moses Makinde is one of three new defensive arrivals for Tulsa Roughnecks FC announced on Monday.

TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa Roughnecks FC announced on Monday it had made three new additions to its back line for the 2019 USL Championship season with the signings of former North Carolina State defender Moses Makinde and a pair of Brazilian arrivals in Luca Lobo and Renan Ferreira.

Makinde made 69 appearances and recorded two goals and eight assists for the Wolfpack over his four seasons at NC State before joining the professional ranks in 2014 with English club White Hawk FC. Since then the 26-year-old has competed in Germany for VfB Auerback, in Romania with Metalul Resita CSM and most recently with Swedish club Syrianska SC where he made 18 appearances and recorded two assists since this past April.

“I am very excited to represent the Roughnecks this upcoming season,” said Makinde. “We are looking to build something special. I am thankful for the coaching staff and management for giving me the chance to be a part of it all.”

The 21-year-old Lobo previously played for Brazilian Club, Botafogo, where he featured prominently in the club’s youth system in both the Brasileiro Sub-20 championship and the Campeonato Carioca de Futebol Sub-20 in the 2017 campaign.

“I came from the youth system of Botafogo, the top club in Brazil, where I had many very successful years playing as a center back,” said Lobo, “We played various different Important tournaments in Brazil and overseas. I am very happy to join the Tulsa Roughnecks and I hope to have a wonderful 2019 season.”

His fellow Brazilian, Ferreira most recently played for Canelas in Portugual, and will look to bring his size and tenacity to the Roughnecks’ defensive unit.

“I am a very physical player and my height is my strength,” said Ferreira, “I am from Brazil, but my last team was in Europe. I am very excited to join Coach Nsien and have a great 2019 season with the Roughnecks.”
