INDIANAPOLIS – Indy Eleven announced on Friday it had re-signed defender Karl Ouimette ahead of the 2019 USL Championship season pending league and federation approval.

“Karl was one of our most consistent players last season. He played well in a number of different positions,” said Indy Eleven Head Coach Martin Rennie. “He’s very athletic and competitive. Karl’s a great player to have in the locker room and we’re glad that he’s coming back to our community.”

Ouimette started in 31 regular season matches in 2018 and was tied for second-most appearances on the season. The 26-year-old heavily influenced the Boys in Blue’s defensive efforts, leading the team in interceptions (67), tackles (67), duels won (247) and aerial duels won (151). In additional to his defensive performance, Ouimette found the back of the net on three occasions, each goal assisted by returning defender Ayoze Garcia.

“I’m very happy to be back with Indy Eleven this year. I really enjoyed the community, the people and especially the fans that came out to support us last year,” said Ouimette. “I’m excited to go back on the pitch and play.”

LOCOMOTIVE FC ADDS YOUNG SHOT-STOPPER: El Paso Locomotive FC announced on Friday it had signed goalkeeper Logan Ketterer for the 2019 USL Championship season, pending league and federation approval. The Madison, Wisconsin native comes to El Paso from Major League Soccer’s Columbus Crew SC, where he spent two seasons after being selected by the club in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft.

“He has spent the last couple of years working closely with Zack Steffen, the number one national team ‘keeper,” said Locomotive FC Head Coach Mark Lowry. “He will be coming to us with a great foundation, a willingness to be brave with the ball at his feet, and a desire to win games and be a leader in the group.”

Bringing Ketterer to El Paso aligns perfectly with the high-possession game Lowry is implementing in the club’s 2019 inaugural season.

“Logan is a goalkeeper that is coming from an MLS environment that played in a similar manner to us and used the goalkeepers as a big part of their possession game,” said Lowry. “The goalkeeper position is a critical element to how we want to play. Not just with the obvious objectives of making saves and keeping clean sheets, but more-so with how we want to build our possession and bravery to play slightly higher up the field.”

ROUGHNECKS SIGN FORMER HAITI YOUTH INTERNATIONAL: Tulsa Roughnecks FC announced on Thursday the club had signed 22-year-old Haitian forward Fredlin Mompremier, pending league and federation approval.

“I’m very excited to join a wonderful organization and I’m hoping to contribute a lot to our success this year,” said Mompremier. “I can’t wait to get started.”

Mompremier joins the professional ranks in Tulsa after competing for the University of Tampa, where he was named to the D2CCA All-South Region First Team and All-American honorable mention. The past two seasons he competed for Fairleigh Dickenson University, where he made 24 appearances and recorded five goals and four assists.

In addition to his collegiate experience, Mompremier has previously competed for the Haiti U-20 National Team and featured for the Ocean City Nor’easters in USL League Two as he scored two goals and recorded six assists in 14 appearances for the side.

“Fredlin is another young exciting talent that will play for the Tulsa Roughnecks next season,” said Roughnecks General Manager Wayne Farmer. “He came highly recommended and is a highly versatile player that can play many positions.”
