Solid performer recorded 58 appearances to help 1868 FC to back-to-back playoff berths

RENO, Nev. – Reno 1868 FC announced on Monday it had re-signed Seth Casiple, pending league and federation approval, as the midfielder returns for his third season in the “Biggest Little City” after being a frequent contributor in back-to-back runs to the postseason.

A native of San Diego, Calif., Casiple has recorded seven goals and six assists in 58 appearances for the club. The 25-year-old sits third in appearances in the club’s two-year-history while also ranking third on the team in that span with 74 chances created and 82 interceptions.

“Seth has been an integral part of our team for the past two seasons,” said Reno Head Coach Ian Russell. “To bring back a player with that familiarity and who contributes both on and off the pitch is a huge plus for us headed into our third season.”

Casiple has been a solid figure in the midfield for 1868 FC, sitting second among outfield players on the team over the past two seasons with 288 possession recoveries, while logging an 82.9 percent passing accuracy rate on more than 2,200 attempted passes during the USL Championship regular season and USL Cup Playoffs.

With the addition of Casiple, Reno now has eight players set to be on the 2019 roster. Casiple becomes the third midfielder along with Lindo Mfeka and new addition Raul Mendiola.
