Canadian led Roughnecks with six assists in 2018 season, joins Rivas at STLFC

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Saint Louis FC announced on Saturday it had signed defender Paris Gee, pending league and federation approval, for the upcoming 2019 USL Championship season.

Gee most recently played for fellow USL Championship club Tulsa Roughnecks FC, where this past season he recorded three goals and a team-leading six assists. Gee recorded 53 appearances for the Roughnecks across the Championship regular season and USL Cup Playoffs and becomes the second former Tulsa player to make the move to STLFC this offseason after the previous arrival of El Salvador international Joaquin Rivas.

“Paris is someone who impressed us this year with his versatility, athletic attributes, and technical qualities,” said STLFC Head Coach Anthony Pulis. “He has the ability to cover a lot of ground and his delivery from wide areas is excellent. He is another player who is hungry and determined to keep improving which is exactly the type of player we want here.”

A native of Burnaby, British Columbia, the 24-year-old came through the Vancouver Whitecaps FC youth system before playing for Simon Fraser University in NCAA Division II for one season in 2012. Gee signed his first professional contract for NK Rudeš of the Croatian second division in 2014 and make 35 appearances over two seasons before joining the Roughnecks prior to the 2017 campaign. Over his first year, Gee helped Tulsa reach the USL Cup Playoffs for the first time in its history and scored the side’s goal in its 2-1 defeat to San Antonio FC in the Western Conference Quarterfinals.

“I’m very excited to join this club and take this next step in my career,” said Gee. “I can’t wait to meet all of the staff and fans, and I’m looking forward to joining my teammates on the field.”
