Which save will get a second chance at the title and join the other three semifinalists?

TAMPA, Fla. – Saves by the Charleston Battery’s Joe Kuzminsky, North Carolina FC’s Alex Tambakis and San Antonio FC’s Diego Restrepo have advanced to the Semifinals of the 2018 USL Fans’ Choice Save of the Year contest, leaving one position open in the final four for the winner of “The Rebound” as the nine previously eliminated saves get a second chance at the title.

Among those nine are saves by Phoenix Rising FC’s Zac Lubin – which fell 64 percent to 36 percent to Kuzminsky in the Second Round – and the Richmond Kickers’ Trevor Spangenberg, whose defeat to Diego Restrepo in the previous round came by the narrow margin of 54-46 percent.

Voting in “The Rebound” will run through 12 p.m. ET on Thursday, December 13, with the Semifinals set to kick off later this week.

Alex Tambakis (NC) - #NCvPEN, 4/28/18: Tambakis turned away a one-on-one chance for Penn FC’s Mauricio Eustaquio as he rose to block a chipped effort as part of his third shutout of the season.

Alex Tambakis (NC) - #LOUvNC, 10/9/18: Tambakis got down quickly to his right to keep out a right-footed effort from USL Golden Boot winner Cameron Lancaster in his team’s October clash with Louisville City FC at Slugger Field.

Matt Cardone (SA) - #TULvSA, 9/15/18: Cardone scrambled back toward his own goal and produced an acrobatic fingertip save to keep out an ambitious lob from distance by Tulsa Roughnecks FC forward Isaac Diaz at ONEOK Field.

Evan Newton (CIN) - #INDvCIN, 3/31/18: Newton produced a tremendous double-save that first kept out a penalty kick by Indy Eleven’s Jack McInerney and then the rebound chance for Ben Speas late in the first half at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Zac Lubin (PHX) - #SPRvPHX, 5/26/18: Lubin showed off his reflexes in denying two chances for the Swope Park Rangers, tipping Tyler Blackwood’s initial shot off the left post before recovering to keep out Rodrigo Savaria’s effort on the rebound.
