Tulsa Roughnecks FC forward Joaquin Rivas scored his first goal for El Salvador on Tuesday night to earn a 1-0 victory in an international exhibition against Haiti at Estadio Cuscatlan in San Salvador as the November international window wrapped up with a small contingent of players who featured in the 2018 USL Championship season seeing action for their countries.
Rivas scored on the half-hour mark minute for La Selecta, arriving unmarked in the penalty area to latch onto a pass by Oscar Ceren that allowed him to round Haiti goalkeeper Johnny Placide and slide his finish into the open net from the left side of the penalty area. Rivas had led the Roughnecks with 12 goals in the 2018 regular season.

The Charleston Battery’s Quinton Griffith also found the net on Monday night for Antigua & Barbuda, but his late goal proved only a consolation in the side’s 4-2 defeat against Martinique in Concacaf Nations League qualifying. Antigua & Barbuda are now on the cutoff line for qualification for League B in the tournament proper that will kick off next year, with a game against a Curacao side that has won three games from three so far up next in March.
