Midfielder earns first selection for Los Chapines as side faces exhibition against Israel

EDINBURG, Texas – Rio Grande Valley FC announced on Thursday that midfielder Pablo Aguilar had been called up to the Guatemalan national team for the first time as it gets ready to face Israel in an international exhibition on Nov. 15. The contest set to be held in Jerusalem will kick off at 1:15 p.m. ET.

Aguilar appeared in 27 matches and made 22 starts for the Toros this past season as he recorded two goals and one assist for the side. The 23-year-old had the notable achievement of scoring the first goal in the 2018 USL regular season as he found the net against Saint Louis FC on March 16 at H-E-B Park.

Selected in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft by the Houston Dynamo, Aguilar previously played for Reading United AC in USL League Two, while also competing for the University of Virginia collegiately.
