SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Sacramento Republic FC continued its “Five Years of Glory” celebration on Saturday night when the side hosted Seattle Sounders FC 2 at Papa Murphy’s Park as it welcomed 2014 USL Cup Most Valuable Player Rodrigo Lopez for a pregame discussion of the club’s championship inaugural season and a halftime ceremony honoring the former USL All-League selection.
Sacramento went on to take a 3-0 victory in front of a sellout crowd of 11,569 fans behind two goals from Christian Eissele and a 13th of the season by Cameron Iwasa, who surpassed his own single-season club record for goals in the process.

#MiracleAtBonney was an historic moment in Sacramento sports. @SacRepublicFC was down 0-2 before @Lopez_Roro made his astounding hat trick. Fans went crazy and rushed the field. It was my grandson’s first soccer match and he got autographs from every player. What a souvenir! pic.twitter.com/q5Rg3BE3na
