Taking to the field in retro warmups, SAFC thrilled a crowd of 6,534 with victory vs. Phoenix

SAN ANTONIO – Donning replica jerseys to honor the history of the San Antonio Thunder – for whom England's 1966 World Cup-winning captain Sir Bobby Moore played in the 1970s – during preseason warmups, San Antonio FC brought forward a big performance on Saturday night in a 3-2 victory against Phoenix Rising FC before a crowd of 6,534 fans at Toyota Field that earned the side its third consecutive win as it continued its bid for a place in the 2018 USL Cup Playoffs.

Making his first start at the club’s home venue since his arrival on loan, Lance Laing recorded a goal and assist for a third consecutive contest and was certainly appreciative of the energy the fans provided throughout the contest.

“I’m very happy to be contributing and this is a nice atmosphere,” said Laing. “I love the field and I love the fans, it’s very loud here. It’s a nice place and I see my future here.”

Here are some of the sights and sounds from a memorable night in San Antonio.
