Swope Park midfielder’s SportsCenter Top 10 free kick finish earns top spot in weekly poll

TAMPA, Fla. – Swope Park Rangers midfielder Wan Kuzain has earned the USL Fans’ Choice Goal of the Week for Week 25 of the 2018 season as his spectacular dipping free kick against Tulsa Roughnecks FC last Wednesday night at Children’s Mercy Park took top spot in the weekly online poll.

Kuzain pulled the Rangers level with the Roughnecks midway through the first half with a free kick 25 yards out from the right side that dipped fiercely into the bottom-left corner of the net for the young standout’s second such finish of the season. It sparked Swope Park to a 2-1 victory and later that night earned the No. 2 slot in ESPN’s SportsCenter Top 10.

Kuzain’s goal earned 70 percent of the poll conducted online at USLSoccer.com that concluded on Thursday. Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC’s Saeed Robinson finished second with 16 percent for his spectacular game-winner against Real Monarchs SLC last Wednesday night at Weidner Field, while San Antonio FC’s Lance Laing finished third for his clever curled finish that proved the game-winner in his side’s 3-1 victory against Rio Grande Valley FC at H-E-B Park in the USL Game of the Week.
