SAFC’s Gordon Gets Jamaica Call-Up

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio FC announced on Friday that midfielder Omar Gordon had been called up to the Jamaican national team for its upcoming friendly match with Ecuador on September 7, and its CONCACAF Nations League Qualifying match vs. the Cayman Islands on September 9.

Gordon has made 10 appearances at the senior level for his country, including six in the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup when Jamaica reached the final before losing to the United States. The 26-year-old and his Jamaican teammates will face Ecuador at Red Bull Arena in New Jersey before taking on the Cayman Islands in Jamaica.

Gordon has appeared in 19 matches (1,529 minutes) for San Antonio FC this season, scoring five goals. Overall in his SAFC career, Gordon has made 30 USL appearances (2,436 minutes), scoring six goals and recording two assists. The winger has also appeared in two playoff matches, tallying 197 minutes and recording an assist.

Gordon joins fellow Reggae Boyz and USL standouts Je-Vaughn Watson (Charlotte Independence) and Kevon Lambert (Phoenix Rising FC) in those confirmed to the squad.
