Rangers goalkeeper’s left-handed stop against Reno claims top spot in weekly online poll

TAMPA, Fla. – Swope Park Rangers goalkeeper Eric Dick has earned the USL Fans’ Choice Save of the Week for Week 23 of the 2018 season as his excellent low save last Sunday evening against Reno 1868 FC at Children’s Mercy Park finished top of the weekly online poll.

The No. 18 prospect in 2017 in the Premier Development League for OKC Energy FC, Dick has had a strong rookie season in the USL after being selected in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft by Sporting Kansas City. He showed off his excellent reflexes last Sunday to deny Reno’s Antoine Hoppenot, whose low first-time finish to the right corner was turned wide by a strong left-handed save by Dick in an entertaining 3-3 draw between the sides.

Dick’s save earned 28.4 percent of the poll conducted online at USLSoccer.com that concluded on Friday, narrowly edging out San Antonio FC’s Matt Cardone on 27.6 percent for his fingertip save to deny the Portland Timbers 2’s Eryk Williamson last Wednesday night. Rio Grande Valley FC’s Nico Corti finished third on 18 percent for his one-on-one stop of OKC Energy FC’s Christian Volesky last Saturday night.
