TAMPA, Fla. – The following is the USL’s discipline report for Week 23 of the 2018 United Soccer League season:
Las Vegas Lights FC’s Miguel Garduño has been suspended for three games following his red card for violent conduct against Saint Louis FC this past Saturday. Garduño will be unavailable for Lights FC’s contests against Orange County SC (8/15), Phoenix Rising FC (8/18) and Fresno FC (8/25).
Also, Lights FC’s Joel Huiqui has been suspended for two games after receiving his 11th caution of the season this past Saturday against Saint Louis FC. Huiqui will be unavailable for Lights FC’s contests against Orange County SC (8/15) and Phoenix Rising FC (8/18).
Seattle Sounders FC 2’s David Olsen has been suspended for one game following his red card for two cautions in the side’s contest with San Antonio FC this past Saturday. Olsen will be unavailable for S2’s game against the Portland Timbers 2 this Sunday.
Phoenix Rising FC assistant coach Blair Gavin has been suspended for one game following his dismissal from the technical area this past Saturday against Orange County SC. Gavin will be unavailable during Rising FC’s contest with Lights FC this Saturday.
The Charlotte Independence’s Kevan George, Swope Park Rangers’ Graham Smith, Phoenix Rising FC’s Doue Mala and Sacramento Republic FC’s Villyan Bijev have each been suspended for one game after receiving their fifth cautions of the season this past week. Bijev will be unavailable on Wednesday night as Sacramento visits Saint Louis FC, George will be unavailable this Saturday when Charlotte visits Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC, Mala will be unavailable this Saturday when Phoenix visits Lights FC and Smith will be unavailable on Sunday as Swope Park hosts Reno 1868 FC.
Both OKC Energy FC’s Callum Ross and the Tampa Bay Rowdies’ Joe Cole served suspensions this past weekend for caution accumulation, with Ross serving his suspension in OKC’s contest against Real Monarchs SLC and Cole serving his suspension in Tampa Bay’s contest against North Carolina FC.
Fresno FC’s Rony Argueta, Orange County SC’s Aodhan Quinn, the Richmond Kickers’ Heviel Cordoves and the Swope Park Rangers’ Wan Kuzain are no longer on caution accumulation warning, having had one caution removed under the USL’s Good Behavior incentive to place them on three cautions for the season.
The following players enter the upcoming matches one caution away from a yellow card accumulation suspension. A fifth caution would result in a one-game suspension and undisclosed fine. Here is the breakdown per club:
