USL Fans’ Choice Save of the Week – Week 21
Matt Pickens (NSH) - #CINvNSH, 8/4/18: Pickens produced an excellent points-blank save to tip a header by FC Cincinnati’s Fanendo Adi over the crossbar late on in Saturday’s contest, which allowed Nashville to equalize soon after to earn a point from the contest.
Owain Fôn Williams (IND) - #LOUvIND, 8/5/18: Fôn Williams came out with a tremendous double-save on the road in Louisville, first stopping Brian Ownby from the penalty spot and then doing enough to keep out Speedy Williams on the rebound.
Ricardo Ferriño (LV) - #VvRGV, 8/4/18: Ferriño came up big on multiple occasions in his seven-save shutout, but maybe no more than when he kept out a close-range header by RGVFC’s Wilmer Cabrera Jr. late in the first half.
Jake McGuire (BST) - #RICvBST, 8/4/18: McGuire’s reflexes were on full display as he reacted to Brian Shriver’s header off a deflected shot by Braeden Troyer than gave the Steel FC shot-stopper little time to react and keep the game scoreless.
Diego Restrepo (SA) - #SAvLA, 8/4/18: Restrepo went at full stretch to redirect Frank Lopez’s strike from almost 30 yards onto the crossbar and then recovered quickly to avoid giving up a chance on the rebound.
