AUSTIN, Texas – Local players including United States U15 international Julian Gaines and numerous local dignitaries were on hand at Circuit of The Americas on Friday to welcome the arrival of Austin Bold FC to the city.
The club, set to kick off in the USL in the 2019 season, also introduced its first Head Coach Marcelo Serrano and three players who will suit up in the newly-unveiled uniforms that were also on show at the event.
Here are some of the sights and sounds from the event as the latest club set to join the USL in 2019 revealed its crest and colors.
There was a big soccer announcement @COTA this morning. @USL announced @AustinBoldFC as an expansion side. The club is scheduled to join league play in 2019. I gotta say... As much of a racing fan I am, It's still pretty cool to be a part of bringing soccer to Austin. We've already started selling season tickets and the announcement was only an hour ago!— Mason Smothermon (@MasonSmothermon) August 3, 2018
