USL Discipline Report – Week 21

TAMPA, Fla. – The following is the USL’s discipline report for Week 21 of the 2018 United Soccer League season:

The Tampa Bay Rowdies’ Junior Flemmings will not serve a suspension following the club’s successful appeal to U.S. Soccer that overturned his sending off against the New York Red Bulls II this past Saturday. Flemmings will be available on Friday for the Rowdies’ game against Ottawa Fury FC.

Louisville City FC’s Alexis Souahy has been suspended for three games following his red card for violent conduct against Ottawa Fury FC this past Saturday. Souahy will be unavailable for Louisville’s games against Indy Eleven (Aug. 5), the New York Red Bulls II (Aug. 10) and Nashville SC (Aug. 18).

Las Vegas Lights FC’s Carlos Alvarez has been suspended for three games for violent conduct and teammate Marcelo Alatorre one game for receiving two yellow cards after both were sent off in the side’s contest against Seattle Sounders FC 2 last Thursday. Both Alvarez and Alatorre will be unavailable for Saturday’s game against Rio Grande Valley FC, with Alvarez also suspended for Lights FC’s games against Saint Louis FC (Aug. 11) and Orange County SC (Aug. 15).

Phoenix Rising FC’s Gladson Awako has been suspended for three games following his red card for violent conduct in this past Saturday’s game with Real Monarchs SLC. Awako will be unavailable for Rising FC’s games against the Portland Timbers 2 (Aug. 5), Orange County SC (Aug. 11) and Las Vegas Lights FC (Aug. 18).

Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC’s AJ Ajeakwa has been suspended for two games following his red card for serious foul play against San Antonio FC last Wednesday night. Ajeakwa served the first game of his suspension this past Saturday against Rio Grande Valley FC and will also be unavailable for the Switchbacks’ game against OKC Energy FC this Saturday.

Reno 1868 FC’s Eric Calvillo has been suspended for one game following his sending off for two yellow cards this past Saturday against Saint Louis FC. Calvillo will be unavailable for Reno’s game on August 8 against Real Monarchs SLC.

Tampa Bay Rowdies Head Coach Neill Collins has been suspended for one game following his dismissal from the technical area this past Saturday against the New York Red Bulls II. Collins will serve his sideline suspension this Friday as the Rowdies visit Ottawa Fury FC.

Fresno FC’s Zach Ellis-Hayden has been suspended for one game after receiving his fifth yellow card of the season this past Saturday in the Foxes’ contest against Tulsa Roughnecks FC. Ellis-Hayden will be unavailable for this Saturday’s game against Sacramento Republic FC.

San Antonio FC’s Darnell King and Jose Escalante and ATL UTD 2’s Andrew Kendall-Moullin were each suspended for one game after receiving their fifth yellow cards of the season last week. King and Escalante served their suspensions in San Antonio’s contest with OKC Energy FC this past Saturday, and Kendall-Moullin served his suspension this past Sunday when Atlanta faced Bethlehem Steel FC.

Bethlehem Steel FC’s James Chambers and Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC’s Jordan Schweitzer are no longer on caution accumulation warning, having had one caution removed under the USL’s Good Behavior incentive to place them on three cautions for the season.

The following players enter the upcoming matches one caution away from a yellow card accumulation suspension. A fifth caution would result in a one-game suspension and undisclosed fine. Here is the breakdown per club:

  • New York Red Bulls II (1): Cristian Casseres Jr.

  • North Carolina FC (2): Kyle Bekker, Marcel Kandziora

  • OKC Energy FC (1): Callum Ross

  • Orange County SC (2): Alex Crognale, Aodhan Quinn

  • Ottawa Fury FC (1): Tony Taylor

  • Penn FC (1): Tiago Calvano

  • Phoenix Rising FC (3): Mike da Fonte, Doue Mala, James Musa

  • Portland Timbers 2 (1): Eryk Williamson

  • Real Monarchs SLC (2): Jack Blake, James Moberg

  • Richmond Kickers (1): Heviel Cordoves

  • Sacramento Republic FC (3): Villyan Bijev, Shannon Gomez, Jeremy Hall

  • Saint Louis FC (2): Jonathan Barden, Lewis Hilton
