Spin-move to set up finish into open net for SAFC earns top spot in weekly fan poll

TAMPA, Fla. – San Antonio FC forward Éver Guzmán has garnered the USL Fans’ Choice Goal of the Week for Week 19 of the 2018 season as dazzling roulette move and finish into an open net in the club’s victory against Real Monarchs SLC at Toyota Field on Saturday night took top spot in the weekly online poll.

Guzmán’s spinning piece of control to corral a low cross from the right to send his marker sliding the wrong way caught fire on the internet on Saturday night as it allowed him the simplest finish possible into an open net. Part of the best attacking performance of the season for SAFC, the goal also proved the winner for the hosts in an important win for the club’s playoff hopes.

Guzmán’s goal earned 63 percent of the poll conducted online at USLSoccer.com that concluded on Thursday. Sacramento Republic FC’s Cameron Iwasa finished second on 20 percent for his excellent first-time finish against OKC Energy FC last Saturday night, while the Richmond Kickers’ Brian Shriver finished third for his pinpoint free kick to the top-left corner of the net against ATL UTD 2.
