Volleyed finish to cap victory against Ottawa takes top spot in weekly fan poll

TAMPA, Fla. – FC Cincinnati midfielder Nazmi Albadawi has claimed the USL Fans’ Choice Goal of the Week for Week 16 of the 2018 season as his sharp volleyed finish against Ottawa Fury FC this past Saturday night took top spot in the weekly online poll.

Albadawi was active throughout the Eastern Conference-leaders’ victory against Fury FC and recorded his second goal in as many games with a crisply-hit volley from the top of the penalty area off a cross by Corben Bone. The goal was Albadawi’s seventh of the season, putting him one back of team-leaders Emmanuel Ledesma and Danni König.

Albadawi’s goal earned 42 percent of the poll conducted online at USLSoccer.com that concluded on Thursday. Fresno FC’s Franck Tayou finished second on 30 percent for his 70-yard finish against Sacramento Republic FC that landed the No. 5 spot on ESPN’s SportsCenter last Saturday night, while Louisville City FC’s Cameron Lancaster finished third on 14 percent for remarkable first-time finish from 45 yards against the New York Red Bulls II.
