LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Through the first three-and-a-half seasons of Louisville City FC’s existence, there has been one man at the helm, James O’Connor. The Irish Head Coach's move to Orlando City SC last week brought to an end an era of success that included the 2017 USL Cup and three straight USL Eastern Conference Finals appearances. Whoever comes as the next Louisville Head Coach will have some big shoes to fill. Some notable numbers will show just how big O’Connor’s impact was.

186 — No team has scored more goals than Louisville City FC since the start of the 2015 season, with the club having amassed 186 regular season goals under O’Connor. The lowest LouCity has fallen in the season team goal-scoring rankings is second for the 2016 and 2017 seasons, where it sat behind back-to-back record-breaking performances by the New York Red Bulls II (2016) and Reno 1868 FC (2017). The team hit a high of 59 goals in its championship-winning season a year ago, but led the league in its first season with 53 goals, in part powered by by Matt Fondy’s individual single-season record 22 goals. Every coach comes into a club and says that the team will play attacking soccer and score lots of goals but O’Connor clearly meant it, something Orlando City SC fans should be excited for.

56 — No one has won more regular season matches since the start of the 2015 season as James O’Connor who took 56 wins in 105 regular-season contests. In his three full seasons with the club, it won more matches than the season before every year going from 14 to 17 to 18 wins. Those 56 regular season wins came in at an impressive winning percentage of 53.3 percent, and have resulted in Louisville finishing in the top two in the Eastern Conference standings in each of the club's first three seasons. Add in games in the USL Cup Playoffs and Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup matches and winning percentage goes even higher, up to 56.3 percent, with 71 wins in 126 matches.

43 — With 43 shutouts across the regular-season and USL Cup Playoffs over the past three-and-a-half seasons, Louisville has been one of the most difficult sides to break down since joining the league. Sporting a 0.88 goals-against average over its 125 USL games, one of Louisville's hallmarks has been a well-marshalled defense that restricts chances for opponents, which last season led to the side finishing with the second-fewest shots on target allowed (107) in the league.

8 — While Louisville City FC doesn’t have a perfect home record they have proven difficult to beat at Louisville Slugger Field. Under O’Connor, his side has only lost eight matches at home, and suffered only two home losses in the 2017 season. With an 11-2-3 record at Slugger Field a season ago, the side used that advantage throughout the USL Cup Playoffs as it claimed its first championship in front of a record crowd of 14,456 fans.

7 — Along with an impressive 56 regular season wins, O’Connor led his side to seven victories in the USL Cup Playoffs, a mark in the same span only matched by the 2016 USL Cup champion the New York Red Bulls II. With the sides having played each other in two epic USL Eastern Conference Finals over the past two seasons, it was maybe only fitting that the O'Connor era in Louisville ended with one final game against New York that produced another outstanding contest between the two clubs this past Saturday.
