TAMPA, Fla. – FC Cincinnati midfielder Emmanuel Ledesma has garnered the USL Fans’ Choice Goal of the Week for Week 14 of the 2018 season as his long-range blast last Saturday night against the Richmond Kickers took top spot in the weekly online poll.
The lone player in the league in the top four in both goals and assists, Ledesma added another memorable finish to the highlight reel from his first season with FC Cincinnati. The Argentine picked up possess early on the left side against the Kickers and let fly a fierce shot from close to the touchline that dipped enough to carom into the net off the bottom of the crossbar to give FCC an early lead.
Ledesma’s goal earned 53 percent of the poll conducted online at USLSoccer.com that concluded on Thursday. Phoenix Rising FC’s Jason Johnson finished second on 40 percent for his scissor-kick finish against Tulsa Roughnecks FC that joined Ledesma’s as part of the ESPN SportsCenter last Saturday night, while the Charlotte Independence’s Mutaya Mwape finished third for his remarkable chipped finish against the Charleston Battery.
