USL Discipline Report – Week 15

TAMPA, Fla. – The following is the USL’s discipline report for Week 15 of the 2018 United Soccer League season:

Las Vegas Lights FC Technical Director Jose Luis Sanchez Sola has been issued an eight-game sideline suspension for making physical contact with a fan after a verbal discussion following Lights FC’s game on June 13 against Phoenix Rising FC. Sanchez Sola will be permitted to return to the sideline for Las Vegas’ game on Aug. 4 against Rio Grande Valley FC.

Real Monarchs SLC’s Sebastian Velasquez has been suspended for two games for major game misconduct that saw him be dismissed from the sidelines during Real’s game against the Swope Park Rangers on June 13. Velasquez served the first game of his suspension on Saturday night and will also be unavailable for the Monarchs’ game against Fresno FC on June 26.

Bethlehem Steel FC’s Olivier Mbaizo has been suspended for one game following his red card for violent conduct against FC Cincinnati on June 13, with the suspension having been reduced from three games by the Independent Discipline Panel. Mbaizo will be suspended for Wednesday night’s game with the New York Red Bulls II.

Tulsa Roughnecks FC’s Jhon Pirez has been suspended for one game after being sent off for receiving two yellow cards in his side’s contest with Phoenix Rising FC this past Saturday. Pirez will be unavailable for the Roughnecks’ contest this Saturday against Orange County SC.

Las Vegas Lights FC’s Joel Huiqui has been suspended for one game after receiving his eighth yellow card of the season in the past week. Huiqui will be unavailable for Las Vegas’ game this Sunday against the Swope Park Rangers.

Rio Grande Valley FC’s Omar Ontiveros has been suspended for one game after receiving his fifth yellow card of the season against OKC Energy FC this past Saturday. Ontiveros will be unavailable for the Toros’ game this Saturday against Phoenix Rising FC.

Both OKC Energy FC’s Christian Ibeagha and Las Vegas Lights FC’s Ricardo Ferriño received one-game suspensions for recording their fifth yellow cards of the season on June 13 and served their respective suspensions this past Saturday.

Indy Eleven’s Ayoze and OKC Energy FC’s Richard Dixon are no longer on caution accumulation warning, having had one caution removed under the USL’s Good Behavior incentive to place them on three cautions for the season.

The following players enter the upcoming matches one caution away from a yellow card accumulation suspension. A fifth caution would result in a one-game suspension and undisclosed fine. Here is the breakdown per club:

  • Orange County SC (1): Alex Crognale

  • Penn FC (1): Tiago Calvano

  • Richmond Kickers (1): Heviel Cordoves

  • Saint Louis FC (1): Jonathan Barden

  • San Antonio FC (2): Jose Escalante, Ryan Felix

  • Swope Park Rangers (3): Amer Didic, Wan Kuzain, Matheus Silva

  • Toronto FC II (1): Kyle Bjornethun

  • Tulsa Roughnecks FC (1): Ivan Mirkovic
