USL Discipline Report – Week 9

TAMPA, Fla. – The following is the USL’s discipline report for Week 9 of the 2018 United Soccer League season:

Ottawa Fury FC’s Chris Mannella has been suspended for three games following his red card for violent conduct against the New York Red Bulls II last Wednesday. Mannella served the first game of his suspension on Monday night against Penn FC and will also be unavailable for Fury FC’s games against ATL UTD 2 (May 12) and the Charleston Battery (May 19).

Las Vegas Lights FC’s Matt Thomas has been suspended for one game following his red card for serious foul play against Tulsa Roughnecks FC last Friday night. Thomas will be unavailable for Friday’s game against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC. Lights FC defender Joel Huiqui will also be unavailable against Colorado Springs after receiving his fifth yellow card of the season against Tulsa, however Marcelo Alatorre will be available after serving his one-game suspension for a red card against Real Monarchs SLC on April 30 in last Friday night’s game with the Roughnecks.

Real Monarchs SLC’s Charlie Adams and the Charlotte Independence’s Henry Kalungi have both been suspended for one game after being sent off for receiving two yellow cards in games last weekend. Adams will be unavailable for the Monarchs’ game on Wednesday night against the Swope Park Rangers, while Kalungi will be unavailable for the Independence’s game against FC Cincinnati on Saturday.

The following players enter the upcoming matches one caution away from a yellow card accumulation suspension. A fifth caution would result in a one-game suspension and undisclosed fine. Here is the breakdown per club:

  • Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC (1): Taeseong Kim

  • FC Cincinnati (1): Forrest Lasso

  • Fresno FC (1): Pedro Ribeiro

  • Indy Eleven (1): Ayoze

  • Las Vegas Lights FC (2): Ricardo Ferriño, Miguel Garduno

  • Orange County SC (1): Alex Crognale

  • Rio Grande Valley FC (1): Omar Ontiveros

  • Swope Park Rangers (1): Wan Kuzain
