TAMPA, Fla. – FC Cincinnati’s Kenney Walker has earned the USL Fans’ Choice Goal of the Month for April as his spectacular 50-yard volleyed finish against Ottawa Fury FC that landed at No. 1 on ESPN’s SportsCenter Top 10 on April 21 also took top spot after the conclusion of the online poll at USLSoccer.com held this past weekend.
Walker earned worldwide attention for his outstanding strike, which saw the ball drop perfectly after a challenged header in Ottawa’s half from Spencer Richey’s goal kick for the midfielder to strike a precise first-time finish that sailed into the right corner of the net to open the scoring in Cincinnati’s 3-0 victory at TD Place.
Walker's strike received 66 percent of the online poll conducted at USLSoccer.com that concluded on Monday morning. Penn FC’s Ken Tribbett claimed second place with 14 percent for his bicycle-kick strike that gave his side a dramatic late equalizer against the Charleston Battery at FNB Field, while Sacramento Republic FC’s Christian Eissele took third with nine percent for his clever flicked finish from a corner kick against Las Vegas Lights FC.
