USL Discipline Report – Week 8

TAMPA, Fla. – The following is the USL’s discipline report for Week 8 of the 2018 United Soccer League season:

Las Vegas Lights FC Technical Director Jose Luis Sánchez Solá has been suspended for seven games for referee assault following last Friday’s game against San Antonio FC during which he made physical contact with a match official. Sánchez Solá will be eligible to return to the sideline on June 16 for Lights FC’s game against Seattle Sounders FC 2, pending the completion of an ongoing appeal.

Las Vegas Lights FC Head Coach Isidro Sanchez was suspended for one game after being dismissed from the sideline last Friday against San Antonio FC, a suspension that was served on Monday night in Lights FC’s game against Real Monarchs SLC. Las Vegas player Christian Torres, who was sent off against San Antonio FC for serious foul play, also served his one-game suspension in Monday’s game against the Monarchs.

OKC Energy FC’s Miguel Gonzalez has been suspended for three games following his red card for violent conduct against Reno 1868 FC this past Saturday. Gonzalez will be unavailable for Energy FC’s games against the Swope Park Rangers (May 5), Phoenix Rising FC (May 9) and Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC (May 19).

Phoenix Rising FC’s Amadou Dia has been suspended for two games following his red card for serious foul play against Fresno FC this past Saturday. Dia will be unavailable for Phoenix’s games against the LA Galaxy II (May 4) and OKC Energy FC (May 9).

Atlanta United 2’s Miles Robinson has been suspended for one game following his red card for two cautions against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC on April 28. Robinson will be unavailable for Atlanta’s game against FC Cincinnati this Saturday.

The following players enter the upcoming matches one caution away from a yellow card accumulation suspension. A fifth caution would result in a one-game suspension and undisclosed fine. Here is the breakdown per club:

  • Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC (1): Taeseong Kim

  • Las Vegas Lights FC (2): Joel Huiqui, Miguel Garduno

  • Orange County SC (1): Alex Crognale

  • Swope Park Rangers (1): Wan Kuzain
