FCC midfielder’s 50-yard volley against Ottawa sweeps to top of fan poll

TAMPA, Fla. – FC Cincinnati midfielder Kenney Walker has earned the USL Fans’ Choice Goal of the Week for Week 7 of the 2018 season as his outstanding 50-yard volley against Ottawa Fury FC on Saturday afternoon claimed top spot in the weekly online poll, adding to its No. 1 spot on the ESPN SportsCenter Top 10 this past Saturday night.

Walker produced a moment of magic at TD Place after a long goal kick by Spencer Richey was headed his way by an Ottawa defender challenging for possession. The FCC standout shaped to hit his shot on the volley and curled the effort into the right corner of the net on the fly to leave Ottawa goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau with no chance to recover.

Walker’s goal earned 86 percent of the poll conducted online at USLSoccer.com that concluded on Thursday. Reno 1868 FC’s Kevin Partida finished second on 10 percent for a thunderous finish against OKC Energy FC, and the Charleston Battery’s Ian Svantesson finished third for his precise long-range strike against ATL UTD 2.
