COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Standout veterans Luke Vercollone and Jordan Burt were among six players announced on Friday by Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC for the club’s 2018 USL season as the club began to unveil its roster for the new year.
Joining Vercollone and Burt will be Pascal Eboussi, Taeseong Kim, Moise Pouaty, and Toby Uzo, while the club also announced the return of Northern Ireland forward Marty Maybin for his second stint with the club. The signings are pending league and federation approval.
Vercollone was the first signing in Switchbacks history, and was joined by Burt in the club’s inaugural squad. Vercollone has made 79 appearances for the Switchbacks over the club’s first three seasons, and is within range of reaching 200 appearances in the league’s modern era in the 2018 season. Burt, meanwhile, has made 80 appearances for the club, serving as a stalwart on the Switchbacks’ back line over that time.
Burt will be joined defensively by Eboussi, with the 19-year-old Cameroonian having made 17 appearances for the Switchbacks in his first season of the club. Fellow Cameroonian Moise Pouaty also returns to the goalkeeping corps after a year that saw him make the majority of starts for the side in addition to earning his first national team call-up by the Indomitable Lions.
Kim will enter his third season with the club having made 53 appearances over the past two years, with the 24-year-old having notched one goal, one assist and 12 key passes in the 2017 season. Uzo will enter his first full year with Colorado Springs in 2018 after his midseason arrival from the Premier Development League’s Myrtle Beach Mutiny.
Maybin returns to the club’s attack after scoring 10 goals over the club’s first two seasons. The 25-year-old returned home this past season, where he competed for Carrick Rangers in the NIFL Premiership.
