SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio FC announced on Tuesday it had re-signed midfielders Maxi Rodriguez and Connor Presley pending league and federation approval. Per club policy, terms of the contracts were not disclosed.

Rodriguez returns to the club after playing his rookie season for his hometown club. The 22-year-old made 16 USL appearances in 2017, tallying 669 minutes. The central midfielder also made two appearances in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, playing 144 minutes in the tournament. Rodriguez tallied six shots, five shots on goal, and four key passes for the club in all competitions.

“This is an extremely special opportunity for me,” said Rodriguez. “I hold this city very close to my heart, so to continue being part of this growth and excitement is great. Last season was important for me to understand what it means to be a pro, and I’m looking forward to building on that experience with a fantastic club.”

Presley returns to SAFC after joining the club last August after a successful trial. The 19-year-old made his SAFC debut on August 23 against Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2, and went on to make six appearances for the Alamo City club in his rookie campaign, featuring in 129 minutes of action. The Austin native tallied one assist for SAFC, while recording three key passes, two shots and one shot on target overall.

“I’m very excited to return to this club,” said Presley. “I’m looking forward to having the opportunity to contribute more to the team this season and build on the progress made last season both individually and collectively.”
