PITTSBURGH – The Pittsburgh Riverhounds announced on Thursday the club’s initial roster plans for the 2018 offseason. Ahead of the league player option deadline today at 5 p.m. ET, the club elected to decline all active contract options.
New Riverhounds Head Coach Bob Lilley said the club is currently in the process of restructuring contracts of players previously under option. Additionally, the club is in negotiation with players who are out-of-contract from last season’s squad.
Players previously under option are the following: defender Tobi Adewole, forward Kay Banjo, goalkeeper Keasel Broome, defender Shane Campbell, defender Ritchie Duffie, midfielder Ben Fitzpatrick, midfielder Mike Green, midfielder Kenroy Howell, defender Jamal Jack, goalkeeper Trey Mitchell, forward Romeo Parkes and midfielder Victor Souto.
Players currently out-of-contract are the following: defender Ryan Adeleye, defender Gale Agbossoumonde, goalkeeper Brenden Alfery, defender Rich Balchan, midfielder Danny Earls, forward Corey Hertzog, midfielder Kevin Kerr, midfielder Stephen Okai, goalkeeper Matt Perrella, midfielder Jack Thompson and defender Nick Thompson.
Pittsburgh has one player under contract, forward Chevaughn Walsh, who is in the final year of a three-year deal signed during the 2016 season.
