WELLINGTON, New Zealand – Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 defender Deklan Wynne, Portland Timbers 2 midfielder Bill Tuiloma and Reno 1868 FC loanee Kip Colvey have all been named in New Zealand’s squad for its Intercontinental Playoff against Peru for a place in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in the next two weeks.

New Zealand will host the opening leg of the series on Nov. 11 at Westpac Stadium in Wellington before Peru hosts the second leg at the Estadio Nacional in Lima.

Wynne has made 35 appearances all-time for WFC2, including a career-high 20 this year as he recorded two goals and one assist for the side. The 22-year-old has been a regular selection for New Zealand in the past two years, and was named earlier this summer to the squad for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia.

Tuiloma was a late-season addition to Portland’s squad, but scored three goals in 11 appearances for T2 to earn a return to the All Whites’ squad last month for their final warm-up contests for this series. Also 22 years old, Tuiloma also finished the season with a rate of 52 passes per 90 minutes and logged 25 interceptions for T2.

Colvey made 10 appearances on loan with Reno 1868 FC this season from the San Jose Earthquakes, having previously made six appearances with Sacramento Republic FC on loan in the 2016 USL season. The defender recorded an 88.9 percent passing accuracy rate this year in his appearances for Reno, and also notched one assist and nine key passes for the first-year USL club.
