Eastern Conference winners look to head to Playoffs in form

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Lousiville City FC completes its regular season on Saturday night at Slugger Field aiming to build momentum into the USL Cup Playoffs when it plays host to the Richmond Kickers. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff.

Louisville City FC news and notes

  • Current record: 17-6-8, 59pts

  • Louisville earned its first win in four contests last Saturday night with a 2-1 win against the Charlotte Independence last Saturday night at Slugger Field.

  • George Davis IV opened the scoring for Louisville in the 66th minute, and after the Independence equalized Kyle Smith scored what proved to be the winner with his fourth goal of the regular season.

  • Louisville's victory was its 10th home win of the season, and with a victory on Saturday it would draw level with the Tampa Bay Rowdies for the most home victories in the Eastern Conference this season.

  • City sits fourth in the USL with 55 goals this season despite not having a player in the Top 10 in the league in either goals or assists.

Richmond Kickers news and notes

  • Current record: 8-15-8, 32pts

  • The Kickers earned a 1-0 victory against Saint Louis FC last Saturday night at Toyota Stadium – Saint Louis.

  • Matthew Bolduc scored the only goal of the match in the opening minute of the second half to give the Kickers their second away win of the season. 

  • Richmond goalkeeper Travis Worra, on loan from D.C. United, was named to the USL Team of the Week on Tuesday as he recorded a four-save shutout to preserve the win for the Kickers.

  • The Kickers have alternated wins and losses since a 3-1 victory against the Charleston Battery on Aug. 26, going 4-3-0 over their last seven games.
