Precise, long-range finish in Phoenix claims top spot in weekly poll

TAMPA, Fla. – Tulsa Roughnecks FC playmaker Juan Pablo Caffa has taken the USL Fans’ Choice Goal of the Week for Week 29 of the 2017 season as his brilliant long-range finish against Phoenix Rising FC last Wednesday night at the Phoenix Rising Soccer Complex took top spot in the weekly online poll.

Caffa has been a difference-maker for the Roughnecks in helping the side reach the USL Cup Playoffs for the first time in club history, and against Rising FC produced another standout finish for the side as part of a seven-goal thriller in the USL Game of the Week on ESPN3. The Argentinean picked up possession 30 yards from goal, and picked out a finish to the top-right corner of the net that left Rising FC goalkeeper Josh Cohen helpless.

Caffa’s goal earned 40 percent of the poll conducted online at USLSoccer.com that concluded on Thursday morning. Phoenix Rising FC forward Jason Johnson finished second with 33 percent for his brilliant solo effort that stood as the winner in Rising FC’s 2-0 win against Rio Grande Valley FC this past Saturday, while the New York Red Bulls II’s Florian Valot finished third for his long-range blast against Orlando City B in his side’s remarkable 6-5 victory on Saturday with 13 percent.
