IRVINE, Calif. – Reno 1868 FC continued its sensational inaugural USL campaign with an eye-catching 3-1 road victory against Orange County SC from the Champions Soccer Stadium at OC Great Park on Saturday evening. Jimmy Ockford opened the scoring in the 13th minute of play, and soon after, 1868 FC widened the lead via an Oscar Sorto own goal. Chris Wehan, who looked strong all evening and played a part in the buildup to the own goal, netted the third goal for Reno. While his goal served as a consolation in the match, Monday Etim’s finish for Orange County in the 91st minute was a milestone, as it was the 1,000th goal of the USL regular season. With the win, Reno maintains its pace among the Western Conference’s best by improving to 13-5-6 overall. Orange County, meanwhile, falls to 7-8-8 on the year.
