MATTHEWS, N.C. – The Charlotte Independence’s undefeated run at the Sportsplex at Matthews continued on Saturday, as they tied Orlando City B 1-1. Hadji Barry netted the opening goal of the game for OCB, scoring from the penalty spot in the fifth minute of action. However, Charlotte’s David Estrada responded two minutes later from inside the box. Alex Martinez had a great opportunity to give the Independence the lead before the break, but his low strike from inside the box went straight into the hands of OCB goalkeeper Earl Edwards Jr. With the draw, the Independence move to 12-4-8 on the season, while Orlando is now 7-6-11 this campaign.
