RENO, Nev. — Five players from Reno 1868 FC will have the chance to play in their second international friendly in less than a week on Friday night, with the quintet set to join up with the San Jose Earthquakes for the MLS club’s game against Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt at Avaya Stadium.

Defenders Jimmy Ockford and Thomas Janjigian, midfielders Luis Felipe and Darwin Espinal, and forward Dembakwi Yomba joined the Quakes on a short-term loan this week. All of the players are coming off an international exhibition against Liga MX power Atlas FC this past Saturday night.

Ockford has been one the key figures in Reno’s inaugural season, with the former Seattle Sounders FC center back sitting third on the team with 1,228 minutes of action and a pair of goals in his 14 appearances.

Felipe has also found the net twice for Reno in nine appearances since joining the club, while Espinal – who joined 1868 FC midseason after being named the Premier Development League’s top prospect earlier this summer – notched his first goal last week in the club’s league-record victory against the LA Galaxy II.

The Quakes’ international exhibition with Eintracht Frankfurt is set to kick off at 7:15 p.m. PT on Friday night.
