TAMPA, Fla. – The month of June in the 2017 USL regular season saw some outstanding finishes across the league. Now it’s your turn to select the best of the 10 goals selected that will earn the USL Fans’ Choice Goal of the Month award.
USL Fans’ Choice Goal of the Month Finalists – June
Brian Ownby (LOU) - #CHSvLOU, 6/3/17: Ownby’s outstanding run and finish paved the way for Louisville to rally for a 4-4 draw with Charleston in one of the most exciting games of the season.
Didier Drogba (PHX) - #PHXvVAN, 6/10/17: Drogba’s first goal for Rising FC was a classic finish by the legendary forward, as he powered a header home after a good back-post cross by Amadou Dia.
Franck Tayou (RIC) - #RICvTBR, 6/17/17: Tayou’s scissor-kick finish from the top of the penalty area marked his debut for the Kickers with a remarkable moment, and earned the hosts a 1-1 draw with Tampa Bay.
Dante Marini (CHS) - #CHSvTOR, 6/24/17: Marini notched his first two-goal game as a pro against TFC II, and the first of them was out of the top drawer with a ripped finish to the right corner of the net.
Nansel Selbol (SPR) - #LAvSPR, 6/30/17: Selbol’s excellent first touch and precise finish to the right corner of the net produced just the end product Tyler Pasher’s strong work on the left deserved.
Seku Conneh (BST) - #BSTvOTT, 6/4/17: Conneh continued his strong season leading the Steel FC line with a precise long-range finish against Ottawa that bested Canada National Team goalkeeper Callum Irving.
Andrew Wiedeman (CIN) - #CINvCHS, 6/17/17: Wiedeman’s outstanding piece of control and powerful low finish to the right corner of the net notched a spot in the ESPN SportsCenter Top 10 the following morning.
Tyler Blackwood (SAC) - #SACvRGV, 6/24/17: Blackwood’s composed finish after Trevin Caesar’s rabona through-ball against the Toros was the biggest highlight on a standout attacking display for Republic FC
Romario Williams (CHS) - #CHSvLOU, 6/3/17: The USL’s leading scorer at the end of the month produced this highlight-reel finish against Louisville in a thrilling contest that ended up in a 4-4 draw.
Kris Tyrpak (SA) - #SAvTUL, 6/17/17: Tyrpak’s outstanding volleyed finish from the top of the penalty area gave San Antonio a lead against Tulsa Roughnecks FC it wouldn’t relinquish at Toyota Field.
