USL Discipline Report – Week 12

TAMPA, Fla. – The following is the USL’s discipline report for Week 12 of the 2017 United Soccer League season:

The LA Galaxy II’s Ethan Zubak has been issued a three-game suspension and suspended an undisclosed amount from the Independent Disciplinary Panel for excessive force following an elbowing incident that occurred during Los Dos’ match against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on Saturday. He had been issued a yellow card during the match. Zubak will be suspended for LA’s games against Rio Grande Valley FC (this Saturday), Sacramento Republic FC (June 25) and the Swope Park Rangers (June 30).

Sacramento’s Danny Barrera has been suspended one match by the Independent Disciplinary Panel for Saturday’s match against Reno 1868 FC on Saturday. Barrera was cautioned during the match. He will be suspended for this Saturday’s home match against Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2.

Elsewhere, Charlotte Independence midfielder Enzo Martinez is suspended for one match after he picked up two cautions and subsequently was sent off during Saturday’s match at FC Cincinnati. Martinez will serve his suspension this Saturday when Charlotte hosts the Harrisburg City Islanders. Independence defender Ashani Fairclough will return from his suspension for this match. Fairclough was sent off last Wednesday after he picked up two cautions. Fairclough served his one-game suspension on Saturday against Cincinnati.

Two players are serving suspensions for yellow card accumulation after picking up their fifth cautions of the season. San Antonio FC defender Stephen McCarthy is suspended for Saturday’s home match against Tulsa Roughnecks FC and Tampa Bay Rowdies midfielder Michael Nanchoff is suspended on Saturday for their road match against the Richmond Kickers on Saturday.

The following 14 players enter their upcoming matches one caution away from a yellow card accumulation suspension. A fifth caution would result in a one-game suspension and undisclosed fine. Here is the breakdown per club:

  • Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC (1): Josh Suggs

  • Pittsburgh Riverhounds (1): Taylor Washington

  • Portland Timbers 2 (1): Rennico Clarke

  • Richmond Kickers (1): Chris Durkin

  • Rochester Rhinos (1): Wal Fall

  • Sacramento Republic FC (1): Danny Barrera

  • Saint Louis FC (1): Dragon Stojkov

  • Seattle Sounders FC 2 (1): Ray Saari

  • Swope Park Rangers (1): James Musa

The following are one caution away from a yellow card accumulation suspension for receiving an eighth caution, which would result in a one-game suspension and undisclosed fine:

  • Tulsa Roughnecks FC (1): Francisco Ugarte
