FC Cincinnati news and notes

  • Current record: 4-5-3, 15pts

  • FC Cincinnati saw its two-game winning streak end with a 1-0 defeat against the Rochester Rhinos last Saturday night at Capelli Sport Stadium.

  • Cincinnati was held scoreless for the fourth time in 12 games this season as a second-half goal by Bradley Kamdem proved the difference for the Rhinos.

  • FCC leading scorer Djiby Fall will be available for selection on Saturday after completing his suspension. During his absence from league play, Fall scored twice in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup to give him eight goals overall this season.

  • Saturday’s game kicks off an important three-game home stand in the league for FCC, with the Charleston Battery and Saint Louis FC also set to visit Nippert Stadium over the next two weekends.

Charlotte Independence news and notes

  • Current record: 3-3-3, 12pts

  • Charlotte was edged out 1-0 by Louisville City FC on Wednesday night in the first game of its two-game trip at Slugger Field.

  • The Independence were reduced to 10 men against Louisville when new signing Ashani Fairclough received his second yellow card in the 50th minute.

  • The loss brought the Independence’s three-game undefeated streak to an end, as the team’s late pressure against City was unable to provide an equalizer.

  • The Independence will open their new home facility at the Matthews Sportplex next Saturday night when they host the Harrisburg City Islanders.
