Monarchs look to continue winning streak in visit to Vancouver

VANCOUVER, B.C. – Real Monarchs SLC will try to win its sixth consecutive game and keep pace with San Antonio FC at the top of the Western Conference standings when it visits Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 on Sunday afternoon at McLeod Athletic Park. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. PT.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 news and notes

  • Current record: 3-4-2, 11pts

  • Vancouver broke a four-game winless streak with a 3-1 victory against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC in its last outing on May 14.

  • Gloire Amanda scored his second goal in as many games, which proved the be the game-winner, while Chris Serban and Marco Bustos also found the net in the win.

  • WFC2 standouts Sem de Wit and Deklan Wynne both made their Whitecaps FC debuts on Wednesday as Vancouver defeated the Montreal Impact 2-1 in the first leg of their Canadian Championship semifinal series.

  • New Vancouver signing Myer Bevan scored twice for the New Zealand U20 National Team in a 3-1 win against Honduras on Thursday, putting the All Whites in position to advance to the knockout round.

  • The Monarchs romped to a 5-2 victory against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC last Saturday night for their fifth consecutive victory.

  • Chandler Hoffman and Sebastian Saucedo each scored two goals, while Daniel Haber had a goal and two assists, to lead the side to an emphatic victory against its Rocky Mountain Rival.

  • The Monarchs have scored the most goals in the USL this season, with 25 goals in nine games. Hoffman and Saucedo have notched six apiece.

  • Real is currently chasing the USL record of eight consecutive victories in a regular season set by Orlando City SC in 2014.
