CHICAGO – The U.S. Under-20 Men's National Team announced on Wednesday that Philadelphia Union defender Auston Trusty had been added to Head Coach Tab Ramos’ squad ahead of the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup, which kicks off in South Korea on Saturday. Trusty is the ninth player with USL experience in the squad. The Bethlehem Steel FC loanee had been with the team as an alternate in case of injury since the squad departed for training camp in Japan on May 10.

Trusty replaces Fulham FC defender Marlon Fossey, who has been released back to his club. Fossey came into training camp carrying a groin injury but held hopes of healing enough to play in the tournament.

A member of the United States U20 squad at the CONCACAF U20 Championship in March, Trusty has been a mainstay for Bethlehem over the past two seasons, making 25 appearances for the side in the USL. Trusty had played every minute of the 2017 season for Steel FC until he was selected to accompany the U.S. U20 squad last week.

The U.S. U20 squad arrived in Incheon, South Korea late Wednesday night ahead of its opening match against Ecuador on May 22 at Incheon Stadium (4 a.m. ET). The side will also face Senegal on May 25 (7 a.m. ET) and Saudi Arabia on May 28 (5 a.m. ET) in the group stage. All of the games will be aired on FS1.
